So now, I'll be getting:
- a one-way ticket from Singapore to Yoyakarta and
- another one-way ticket from Padang to Singapore
AirAsia offers one-way tickets to Yogyakarta. Their tickets are more expensive on Saturday and Sunday.
AirAsia: Fees for Checking in Baggage |
AirAsia Air Ticket to Yogyakarta: SGD 153 |
For Padang to Singapore, I did a search through AirAsia, JetStar and Tiger Airways. Only Tiger Airways offer tickets from Padang to Singapore.
Tiger Airways tickets are CHEAPER on any days before 14 December 2012. Unfortunately, my maid had negotiated for extra days off and I had to forgo a good discount of IDR500,000 (SGD75) off air tickets and opt for her to come back on the 14 December.
Tiger Airways Flight Details |
Tiger Airways: Fees for Checking in Baggage; SGD11.41 for 15KG |
Tiger Airways: Booking fee of IDR 25000 |
Check-in 15KG luggage = IDR90,000 = SGD11.41
Booking Fee = IDR25,000 = SGD3.17Total = IDR 1,114,900 = SGD141.33
Do note that Tiger Airways charge a compulsory booking fee of IDR 25,000 (SGD3.17) for Indonesia flights. Booking fee is only waived for payments made by vouchers or via Mastercard Debit cards issued by Australian Financial Institutions for TT-designated flights operated by Tiger Airways Australia only.
Summary of Cost Involved (Update):
1. Renew Passport = $35
2. Maid insurance = $308.16
3. Renew Work Permit = $20
4. Air Tickets = $153 (AirAsia) + $141.33 (Tiger) = $294.33

Total cost to DIY maid renewal is SGD695.49
