Washing Machine - After purchase thoughts...

If you intend to get any big ticket appliance from the usual big retailers - Courts, Harvey Norman, Best Denki, etc - remember to go around and ask about the price of that item in all shops.

Big retailers will match the price from their competitors.

I managed to slash an additional $300 off my washer (LG WD-10B7QDT) just by highlighting the price difference to Harvey Norman, Jurong Point Branch. They took my word for it and never asked for proofs. It is very unusual to see this level of trust on pre-customers. As you can tell by now, my entire shopping experience at their JP outlet is excellent. I walked in around 8pm and their sales staff are still very enthusiastic in proving help and advice. I am also able to arrange for a next day delivery (around 3-4pm).

Another plus point about that outlet: great air conditioning and ventilation. Most retailers use big fans to ventilate their shops - this can create a really hot and stuffy shopping experience. Not exactly good if you are cracking your brains to see if the product on display is feasible for your room layout, overall design, touted features, etc.
